U16 Camogie League v Portglenone

Tuesday, April 12, 2016

The first U16 camogie league match of the season saw us take on the mighty Geraldine’s of Portglenone.
It really was a game of two halves with a very strong breeze playing havoc for both teams.
Creggan won the toss and elected to play with the wind in the first half.

At the mid-way point Creggan had a slender one point advantage which really didn’t look like enough.
However, with their backs to the wall, the Creggan girls battled fearlessly and going into the final 5 minutes were level at 13 points apiece.

In the last few minutes of the game, Portglenone stroked over 3 glorious points from play to take the honours.

Super performance from both teams – well done girls!

After the game, club rivalries were set aside, as friends and school buddies; Anna O’Kane, Maria Carey & Sinead Byrne stopped off for a photo.
