All County Feile 'B' Champions!!!

Monday, May 10, 2010

On Saturday 8th May at Con Magee's GAC Glenravel, Creggan U14 Hurlers became the All County Feile 'B' Champions with a fine win over Pearses, of Belfast, notching up an impressive tally of 3-13 in the process.

This is a fantastic achievement for this group of young players who have gotten stronger as the competition has progressed. Furthermore, Kickhams have now won the competition back to back for the past two seasons.

Winning the county title would normally qualify them to travel South to participate in the national Feile Finals - last year Abbeyleix of Laois were magnificent hosts to Kickhams. Unfortunately this year however, there will be no national Feile 'B' competition due to the small number of hurling clubs in the 2010 host county of Clare.

Never-the-less, this championship win should not be considered any less an achievement. As Brian Cody has said on many occasions, it takes a good team to win a championship but it takes a great team to win back to back championships. Well done to all the players on the panel. They are true County Champions - one and all. The history making panel of players were:
