All County Minor Football Championship
Quarter Final
3 August 2010

Kickhams Creggan 2-10
Glenavy 0-08

Creggan secured their passage into the semi-final of the Minor Football Championship with a good win over Glenavy at Pairc Ciceam.

Glenavy would have fancied themselves in this game but on the night Creggan were just too strong for them in the key areas of the pitch. Kickhams were always in the lead throughout the game and playing with a fairly stiff breeze in the first half they went in 0-08 to 0-05 to the good.

The visitors began seeing a bit more of the ball in the second period but their wasteful shooting when the scoring chances presented themselves kept Creggan in control of the score board.

A crucial score came midway through the second half when Fintan Burke collected a pass and slammed the ball to the net to make the game comfortable for the G&G. A period of indiscipline from Glenavy then followed when no less than 3 of their players received red-cards for striking offences. This effectively ended the match as a contest with Creggan smashing home another goal to run out comfortable enough winners in the end.

So, this puts us in to another semi-final where we will meet St. Johns which will no doubt be another tough encounter, but one that Kickhams will relish with another County Final being the prize to the victors.
