Help required!

Following the successful running of Féile Naomh Olcán / St Olcan’s Festival last year the Creggan Local Heritage group is appealing for volunteers from all age groups to help run this year’s event on Sunday 30th June. Help is needed with general preparation, preparing the venue, catering,  stewarding etc. There will be a meeting of all concerned in the Creggan pavilion at 7pm on Monday 3rd June. On the day of the festival there will be the usual Mass in Cranfield graveyard after which the traditional “rounds” or stations will be re-enacted by pupils from Creggan PS. This will be followed by several  hours of family oriented fun with Bouncy Castles,  face painting, refreshments, set dancing and music by the  McStocker Ceilí Band.
In conjunction with Creggan PS we are providing prizes for a project to be carried out by pupils from the school on the traditions associated with the church and the well.
We are also planning to carry out a survey of the names and other details on the headstones in Cranfield graveyard and to publish these.
You may be aware that we organised and funded last year’s Senior Citizens night jointly with Kickhams GAC.
Our group has tickets for sale at the moment ( £1 each or a book of 6 for £5)  to raise money to defray expenses. These can be had from Paddy and Dessi McAteer, Agnes McEldowney, Thomas McCann , Sean Nelson, Mairead Bateson, Brenda McNulty or other members of the committee.
As a group we are very keen to get more people involved in our group and the meeting on Mon 3rd June at 7pm (pavilion)  is an ideal opportunity.
